Unique Features of the CelTox Sampler

  • Entire multi-well plates can be placed inside the system.
  • Performance is optimised with reusable, autoclavable multi-well plates. We recommend using Snapwell (12-well format) and Millicell-CM (6-well format) inserts.
  • The system accommodates disposable multi-well plates for standard hanging inserts (e.g. Transwells) in 6, 12, and 24 multi-well formats.
  • The system accommodates disposable multi-well plates for the miniaturised AMES assay in 6, 12, and 24 multi-well formats.
  • Electrostatics can be used to enhance particle deposition. The system contains a unipolar particle charging source that can be turned off to rely on the particles’ natural charge or turned on to charge the particles for deposition enhancement.
  • Two multi-well plates can be placed inside the system at once, which allows simultaneous exposures to the same test atmosphere. For example, when testing atmosphere containing aerosols or complex mixtures with aerosols, the plate upstream can be exposed without electrostatics and the second plate downstream can be exposed with electrostatics for direct comparison.
  • The system contains a temperature-regulated, non-diluting humidification system that can add moisture to the sampled atmosphere without diluting the test atmosphere.
  • The entire system is housed in a heat-regulated enclosure with adjustable temperature settings and an in-line temperature and relative humidity sensor with data-logging capabilities.
  • The exposure chamber contains stainless steel surfaces in direct contact with the air stream.
  • The system operates under a vacuum, which protects the user from unintentional exposure to the test atmosphere.
  • The system can be operated with a laboratory house vacuum, an external pump, or MedTec’s integrated rechargeable battery vacuum pump.
  • A “Guide to Operations (User’s Manual)” is provided, and minimal training is required for operation.
  • The system’s small footprint of 28.5″ L × 19″ W × 9″ H (72 cm L × 48 cm W × 23 cm H) allows it to sit on a cart, on a bench, or inside a hood.
  • The system requires two 120 VAC outlets. The heated enclosures operates with a 120 VAC power cord. The exposure chamber operates with a 24 VDC power supply that connects to 120 VAC.
  • The entire system ships in two boxes.
